Mystery Shopper

Mystery shopping or mystery consumer is a tool used by market research companies to measure quality of retail service or gather specific information about products and services. Mystery shoppers posing as normal customers perform specific tasks—such as purchasing a product, asking questions, registering complaints or behaving in a certain way – and then provide detailed reports or feedback about their experiences.

As a mystery shopper, you will play a very important role by helping businesses establish and maintain the high customer service standards they need to remain competitive. You will help the businesses by providing valuable information from a customer's perspective.
Was the store attractive and well kept?
Were the sales people friendly?
Were all items in stock?
If the business was a restaurant, was the food good?
What about the service?
Department stores, restaurants, specialty shops, clothing stores: the list is unending. However, they all need the same thing: to know what customers really think about their shopping experiences.
The businesses will gladly pay for this information because it is so valuable to them. This is where YOU come in. Imagine getting paid to go shopping! Using the store's own money to shop with! You even get to keep the merchandise you buy at times! You can, as a mystery shopper.
Here are a few mystery shopping websites that will get notify you of companies needing mystery shoppers in your area:

Get Paid To Drive your own Car

There are many companies out there that are willing to pay you to drive your own car with the company's advertisement on it. Some companies will even give you a free car already insured; you just pay for gas and maintenance. I know someone who makes $500 per month just for having an ad printed on his car.
You can find companies at thefreecar.com.

craigslist.org

 craigslist.org
This is one of my favorite sites on the Internet. Free advertising of almost anything you want, websites, products, used furniture, job listings, anything.
Everyone knows about Craigslist, but there are things to be aware of regarding Craigslist rules.
·         Duplicate ads get deleted automatically by Craigslist
·         Too many ads from the same email address can get your ads deleted
·         Users can get your ad flagged and removed if your ad is irrelevent or offensive in any way.

MySpace

Everyone by now has heard of Myspace.com. It's where people set up pages to talk about themselves, their hobbies, networking, advertising, making friends, and just having a good time.
Well, there are those that make money directly through MySpace. There are forums and boards on Myspace where you can advertise yourself, your website, your products, your affiliate links, and even your Ebay Products.
The key with Myspace success is to have a lot of friends who join your bulletin, and you send them all a bulletin once in a while with a newsletter or promotion of some sort. This is very similar to email marketing when people sign up to receive emails from you.
How do you gather friends. The slow way is by actually inviting as many people as you can  hope they accept your add, which most will do. But this is very time-consuming and it is a hard process to find the people that would be interested in what you or your products are about.

Paid Surveys

Getting paid to take surveys has become a growing online business. I recommend joining a survey program as a side income for extra spending cash.
Surveys just take a few minutes to fill out and some of them will pay up anywhere from $1 - $150 to take a survey. There are some survey sites that won't pay money, but will rather give you points which you can later redeem for merchandise or a ticket to a lottery drawing to win money.
If you are interested in taking surveys for pay, go to the websites listed and carefully review their offer:

Make Money with YouTube

This isn’t a new method at all, but I’ve only found time recently to try it out myself. YouTube.com is the #2 website on the entire internet, recently passing Google as far as traffic goes. This is a great opportunity for you to make some money quickly and easily.
Here’s a quick guide on how to leverage the power of YouTube to cash in.
  • 2.      Convert FLV video to MPEG using SUPER software (FREE).
  • 3.      Add watermarks to your videos with your website address on it promoting your affiliate offer using VirtualdubMOD (FREE). Read this tutorial on how to watermark your videos using this software.
  • 4.      Cash the checks and repeat!
Here’s a run down of how I personally do this in proper order (to make it easy and understandable for you)…
  • 1.      Download YouTube video and save it in FLV format
  • 2.      Convert FLV to MPEG (using SUPER)
  • 3.      Create watermark bitmap image in Photoshop (read the tutorial mentioned above)
  • 4.      Import MPEG to VirtualDubMOD, add BMP image to video
  • 5.      Export and save video as an AVI
  • 6.      Convert AVI to MPEG in SUPER
The watermark image should simply be text promoting your affiliate offer. I’ve had the most success promoting PPL (pay-per-lead) offers, such as ringtones, or e-mail submits. Make sure you hide your affiliate URL using a redirection service, such as TinyURL.com. It will make it easier for your viewers to remember the URL as well. If you don’t already belong to an affiliate network, check out my Money Making guide.
Upload the video to YouTube with a descriptive title of the video. In the description field, enter the URL you just created and some text describing your offer. Example: “Get a FREE Ringtone of this music video!”
It’s important to always follow the terms and conditions of each affiliate offer you’re promoting. Some offers restrict you from using the words, “free”, “best”, “guaranteed” etc. when promoting them. Check to make sure you aren’t violating any of these terms. It’s also best to use YouTube videos that are royalty free. Ignoring these rules and uploading a copyrighted video may get your video removed from YouTube and your account deleted. Your affiliate network account may also be terminated if a viewer reports you for promoting an offer in conjunction with a copyright violation. Play by the rules and you won’t have any problems. Your cash flow also won’t be cut off.

Ebay Basics - Knowing Your Competition

Obviously, one must know how and what his competition is doing in order to succedd in one's own business. For Ebay sellers there is only one solution: Terapeak. Terapeak is the leading research tool for Ebay. It will tell you what the hottest items on Ebay are, how much you should price your items, what the competition prices it at, what the best times are to list your specific item, and more. This tool is $24.95 per month and is a no-brainer for success on Ebay.
Let me give you an example of how Terapeak helped me. In my Ebay Store which is run by my wife and her friend, we were selling a Motorola W375 for about $93 and were making about $15 on each phone. We sold about 400 of these phones in one month on and off Ebay (we found great cell phone suppliers). After doing some research on the competition using Terapeak, we found that a competitor was selling triple the amount of the Motorola W375 than we were and was selling the phone for $104 while we were selling it for $93.
I was baffled and confused. Why would anyone pay more to him?! The research showed that most people searched for Motorola phones under the following criteria: “phones in the price range of $100 to $200. Therfore, my W375 phone did not show up in those searches because we were selling it for less than $100. Now we raised the price to $104 and we are selling a lot more. We would have lost out on a lot of money if not for that piece of research. Now we are making about $23 profit on each phone after Ebay and Paypal fees.
